The perfect notepad for the workshop

I found what may be the perfect tool to help the slightly absent-minded potter, one that can deal with clay fingerprints and glaze splashes; a notebook made of stone paper.

There are lots of these types of notebooks around the world now in 2025, but there is also a Finnish version. From a brand called Modestone.eu we have this notebook which is designed for the demanding conditions of the army and saving trees, in nine different sizes.

I ordered mine from the varusteleka army surplus store, the picture was taken from their website.

So the theory is as follows: if it can withstand water and you can write with a nail underwater, then it must also work in the conditions of a glaze lab, where your hands are wet and clumsy inside nitrile gloves, your pens are lost and a third of the 200g test batch just spilled over your notes.

This is not a sponsored post, I bought the notebook with my own money. I fill the other, A5-sized one, with baking recipes and treat it with the same absent-mindedness in my own test kitchen.
